There are approximately 326,000 items that are available to visitors, across Tauranga Libraries. Activities hosted onsite include story times for pre-schoolers, holiday programmes and class visits for children and teens. Cultural events (e.g. Poetry Night, Matariki and Māori Language Week), book clubs and book launches are also hosted by Tauranga Libraries.

Evacuation plans consider individuals with deafness or limited hearing, and staff can assist non-verbal visitors.
However, emergency alert systems do not provide both audio and visual warnings, and video events lack closed captions or sign language interpretation.
Neurodiverse Support
Sensory backpacks containing noise-cancelling headphones, calming items, and fidget tools are available for loan.
Activities are designed for neurodiverse participants, allowing easy withdrawal if discomfort occurs, and staff can intervene with distressing audiovisual stimuli.
A range of safe sensory experiences and stimuli are available.
There is no dedicated quiet space or breakout room, and the venue cannot adjust indoor temperatures for specific needs.
Service Animals
All service animals are welcome at Greerton Library and can access all areas of the venue where their owners are permitted.
